About The Euro Currency
The euro was introduced to world financial markets as an accounting currency on 1 January 1999. Physical euro coins and banknotes entered into circulation on 1 January 2002. By March 2002, the Euro had completely replaced the old currencies.
Nowadays, the euro is the second-largest and second-most traded currency in the foreign exchange market after the US dollar. It’s the official currency of 19 of the 27 member states of the European Union, and it’s used by around 343 million eurozone citizens.
Fun fact: Inspiration for the € symbol came from the Greek epsilon (Є) – a reference to the cradle of European civilisation. It’s also the first letter of the word Europe, crossed by two parallel lines to represent the stability of the Euro.

About Poland
Population: 38.5 million Capital city: Warsaw Popular tourist locations: Kraków, Łódź, Wrocław, Poznań, Gdańsk, Szczecin
Poland is the sixth-most populous country in the EU. It shares borders with various countries, including Russia, Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Germany. The country’s landscape is incredibly varied, ranging from vast lowlands to the centre and north of the country and snow-capped mountains to the south. Poland re-established itself as a presidential democratic republic in the aftermath of the Revolutions of 1989.
You have the right to live and work in Poland as an EU citizen. However, once you arrive in Poland, you need to apply for a temporary residence permit if you want to stay longer than 90 days. This is also the case if you’re exempt from getting a visa or work permit. You have to submit your application to the responsible municipality or Voivode (Wojewoda) in the first month of your stay.
The cost of living in Poland is one of the lowest in the EU. If you live a bit further out of the city and have a small commute, you’ll find good deals for apartments with large living spaces. Public transport is reasonable, and public education is free. However, schools are all in Polish so keep that in mind if you’re moving with a family. Most people living in Poland receive basic healthcare under the National Health Fund or NFZ.
