World Cup 2022: Dates, draw, schedule, kick-off times, final for Qatar tournament
The 2022 World Cup will be held in November and December. This is the first time that the month of December has been used as a time frame for the World Cup, but it's not much of a surprise considering Qatar's hot climate during that time of year. The games will be played at night in order to avoid temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius (104 F).
The World Cup 2022 will be the first ever to be held in the Middle East and only the third ever to take place outside Europe or South America (South Africa 2010 was also held on another continent).
32 teams to compete in eight groups; England face Iran on the second day of the tournament while Wales face USA; Wales vs England on November 29

Costs
You've probably heard that Qatar is an expensive place to visit. And it's true; the cost of living in Qatar is high.
Accommodation, food and entertainment are all more expensive than what you would find back home. However, it's possible to cut costs by staying in hostels rather than hotels and buying groceries from local markets instead of restaurants or shops (though this may not be feasible if you have a food allergy or intolerance).
Traveling to Qatar also comes with its own set of challenges: converting currencies can be time-consuming and costly.
Currency Conversion
Here are some tips for currency conversion and more.
Qatar's official currency is the Qatari Rial, abbreviated as QR. QAR stands for Qatari Riyal (plural: Riyals). The rial was introduced in 1983 as a replacement for the Indian rupee, following Qatar's independence from Britain. It has since been pegged to a basket of currencies known as the Special Drawing Rights (SDRs), which are issued by the International Monetary Fund.
If you're traveling to Qatar, it's important to know how much your local currency is worth in QAR (Qatari Riyal). You can click here to find out exactly how much your currency is worth in QAR today.
You might also want to know what happens when you exchange your money into QAR at the airport or at a local ATM machine. XOZ Doha Hamad Airport ATM withdrawals and credit card charges will likely incur a 1.5-5.0% conversion factor plus possible other charges such as ATM withdrawal fees. These conversion fees are usually hidden in the transaction, but any ATM withdrawal fees are usually presented with a message for acceptance.
Some ATM and cash machines at airports and train stations may limit the amount withdrawn on your account. This is to require you to make two or more withdrawals to obtain the cash you need and each withdrawal will have a transaction fee.
We recommend either visiting a few ATM's to see if they all have the same limits and if so, get what you need in one transaction and then use another ATM in town that will likely not be restricted.
Be aware that some ATMs do not give a choice on which account that money will be pulled from. We recommend contacting your bank before travel to see which is your 'default' account.
Some ATMs also present accounts as different names as what you are used to: 'chequing', 'checking', and 'current' are regularly interchanged.
Some XOZ Doha Hamad Airport bureau de change offices will have variable conversion factors and commission fees. Although many offices will post their current rates on boards, be aware that there may be a transaction fees on currency conversions and these fees are rarely posted on the boards. Avoid these types of charges by clicking here
We offer currency exchange services, and the above are estimates on what typical exchange rates might be at the Doha Hamad Airport. Currency Solutions does not guarantee that all currencies may be exchanged at the Doha Hamad Airport.
If all this sounds complicated and confusing, don't worry! Our team has been working hard to make sure that our website is easy to use when converting currencies.
